MermaidsThe mermaids joined the festival last year and are located in the newer area of the festival they are worth your while to go and see them. The children were so excited to meet this lovely ladies of the deep and several young children did not stop talking about how they met a mermaid and they frequently told everyone that they saw them.

AdviceThe mermaids are new to the festival and are very popular with patrons of all ages, which means that the line to greet them is fairly long, so it is best to get to the line as soon as possible, so the rest of the day you can watch shows and not wait in a long line.

Opening SceneIn the morning right before festival start there is an show put on by resident cast welcoming the queen to the shire and introducing some of the characters that are at festival. |
InformationThe opening scene is a well missed part of the festival if you are not an early riser, but it is worth the while to see why the queen is visiting, who the princesses are, and what festival is all in one small scene.

Morning danceAfter the opening ceremony you walk into see the peasant dancers dancing around the maypole to welcome her Majesty to the village. After their dance is over she will announce they all shall dance. The morning dance consists of the the Black-nag, Korobushka , Sherenzula, and Nun-such.

Dancing If you stick around until the last dance known as Nun-such, this dance involves the patrons if your children would like to dance or even yourself you can ask or may be selected by a cast member. They will teach you the dance a very simple one, and you will dance.

JailMany people have know of the jail for awhile, but if your new you will find that if you walk long enough people are being escorted by someone holding onto a rope. These people were sent to jail and the Jailer paid to arrest them. The only way to get out of jail is to do a silly dance or song.

Be CarefulYes, you can send your friend to jail at anytime you can describe them, or you can just take them there. Either way they will be found, but be careful if you leave your friend with money they can send you into jail from jail. The jailers aren't a loyal bunch, so if they are payed, almost anybody can go to jail.

SingingIf you manage to survive the entire day at festival then as you leave the people from festival sing the song "Bring On The Starlight" as you exit the festival.

Fun FactA drum circle usually forms when everyone is saying goodbye, so as you exit the festival you can walk with the beat of the drums.

Peasant DancersThe peasant dancers are a part of resident cast and their show is at the maypole they dance with the children who come to festival. They are very colorful and if they are not by the maypole they are probably the ones making a ton of noise.

SugarNever give the peasant dancers sugar, if you give a peasant dancer a cookie or even a lollipop, it makes them very hyper and they do crazy things even pick on the bad guys, when they have had too much sugar.
